Sample Nonprofit Strategic Plan
Whether you’re reevaluating your nonprofit's fundraising strategies, or are looking to tak your organization to the next level, developing - and actually implementing - a Strategic Plan is one of the most effective ways to efficiently move your organization closer to realizing its big, bold, beautiful vision. But too often, that document just sits on a shelf collecting dust, when it should be the guiding star that keeps you focused on propelling your organization to new heights!
This is a Sample Strategic Plan that Holmes, Radford & Reynolds actually completed for one of our client partner organizations. For the sake of confidentiality and as a courtesy to that organization, we have changed the name and logo of the nonprofit to something more general, but the details included are an accurate reflection of a very comprehensive Strategic Plan.
This example may be more robust and detailed than what your organization needs for its own Strategic Plan document, but it is a great sample (we think!). Something to keep in mind is that there are different needs and styles for creating a Strategic Plan, so, utilize this reference item in a way that suits your organization’s needs.
Whether your Strategic Plan is a simple one-page outline or a highly detailed, weighty tome, the important thing is that it is referred to and recalibrated regularly, while serving as your north star – directing your organization toward attaining its goals and vision.
Additionally, you may want to consider creating a Strategic Development Plan to guide fundraising activities in support of your organization’s Strategic Plan for the agency. It would be our pleasure to be a resource to you in any way we can to answer further questions or in other capacities you may find helpful.
