The Challenge
Marian Middle School is an independent, all-girls Catholic school located in St. Louis that serves adolescent girls of diverse backgrounds. Founded by six religious orders, the school’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty through holistic, faith-based education. Marian Middle School offers innovative educational opportunities and a unique and effective Graduate Support Program for girls to help them persevere through high school, college, and beyond.
Marian Middle School’s aging facility needed attention, including infrastructure improvements, classroom reconfigurations, and renovations to their multipurpose facility. In addition, resources were needed to ensure that the Graduate Support Program could continue to help girls succeed.
The Solution
The HRR feasibility study revealed strong interest and enthusiasm for supporting the mission, vision, and goals of Marian Middle School. HRR developed a tailored plan to conduct a $5 million capital campaign that would adequately address capital needs and funding for updates to the school facility and to sustain the Graduate Support Program.
The Impact
Their highly successful capital campaign exceeded its $5 million goal and, as a result, renovations have begun at the school, programs thrive, and the students of Marian Middle School will be able to continue to rely on the promise of the Graduate Support Program for many years to come. Through the campaign’s success, Marian Middle School has built a strong financial foundation to carry on its tradition of creating positive impact, effective education, and a bright future for adolescent girls in St. Louis.
