Dan, who worked for six years in the nonprofit field before consulting, began his career in the independent sector with a low-income housing organization in Chicago. Prior to joining HRA in 1999 he was a Director with Doorways, an inter-faith residence in St. Louis serving people with HIV/AIDS.
In his Leadership Role with HRA Dan has conducted numerous planning and feasibility studies, written many fund development plans, directed annual fund programs and led highly successful capital campaigns raising millions of dollars with his clients in the Midwest.
Dan earned bachelor’s degrees in Latin American Studies and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in Public Policy Administration with a certificate in nonprofit management and leadership from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where he graduated with honors. Dan has served as Board Member to the St. Louis Regional Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Dan is an adjunct instructor at Washington University for Nonprofits and Philanthropy. He lives in St. Louis with his wife Sarah and four young children.
